We paid for Tobias's rehabilitation

Tobias is 9 years old and lives in Louny.

Tobias was born with crossed long fingers on his hands, a thumb in his palm, bunions and a heart murmur. The subsequent genetic examination in Motol Hospital did not determine the diagnosis, but only described the deviations. But magnetic resonance at 4 months of age described a neurodevelopmental disorder of the brain - Dandy-Walker syndrome.

Dandy-Walker syndrome is a congenital malformation of the brain involving the cerebellum (the area at the back of the brain that controls movement) and the fluid filling the spaces around it. A key feature of this syndrome is enlargement of the fourth ventricle (a small channel that allows fluid to flow freely between the upper and lower regions of the brain and spinal cord). Symptoms that often appear in early childhood include slow motor development and gradual enlargement of the skull, or poor movement coordination and foot deformity.
Despite all this, Tobík is a great fighter, he is inquisitive, he has motivation that drives him forward. Tobík has had to wear special braces since he was a child, and now he spends most of his time in a wheelchair, which he has had since May of this year.

The Zkruhu Foundation paid for Tobias's 3-week rehabilitation in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
